Several musical genres will be in the spotlight over the next few months thanks to the Germantown Performing Arts Center.
GERMANTOWN, Tenn. – The latest selection of musical talent coming to the Grove at the Germantown Performing Arts Center has been released.
Several musical genres will be in the spotlight over the coming months thanks to the GPAC. The musicians at Concerts In The Grove will cover everything from jazz to rock-n-roll, all in a relaxed outdoor experience.
Eight musical acts will participate in the series.
It all started on September 15 with Jason D. Williams filling the room with rock’n’roll.
Memphis Soul Remedy takes over Thursday, September 22 with Stax-era Memphis Sound.
The series will go on hiatus the following week, but will return weekly for the remaining six acts.
On October 6, Susan Marshall will take the audience on a jazz-filled journey followed by country musician Dale Watson on October 13.
Cyrena Wages then takes the reins on October 20, dabbling in jukebox country, and Memphis Soul before Bill Hurd ends the month on October 27 with an evening of jazz.
The concerts in the grove will continue until November with John Paul Keith kicking off on the 3rd.
The Memphis Wind Symphony will end the concert series on November 11 with a free Veterans Day concert in honor of the United States.
Concerts in the Grove will take place on the Duncan Williams Asset Management Stage.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. with concerts starting at 6:30 p.m.
GPAC said guests are encouraged to bring their own blankets and chairs to sit on.
