The Tony-nominated LA MIRADA THEATER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS is thrilled to announce that its recently concluded 2021-2022 show season broke its box office records for attendance, unique ticket sales and overall revenue – the most ever recorded in 45 years of history. The 2021-2022 season opened with the West Coast premiere of Indexfollowed by Mama Mia!, Million Dollar Foursome, The sound of music and recently closed with In the heights.

Total attendance for the season (single tickets and subscribers) exceeded the previous record holder, its 2018-2019 season, by almost 10%. Total revenues (single tickets and subscribers) exceeded the previous record holder, his 2015-2016 season, by nearly 15%.

BT McNicholl, Artistic Director of Theater Production, is encouraged. “It’s a happy surprise, and it captures the entire theatrical experience at La Mirada Theater – from the box office to the room, from the backstage to the stage. We thank the patrons for their loyalty and enthusiasm.

La Mirada Theater is unique among American regional houses: its shows are sponsored solely by one municipality, the City of La Mirada, which also owns and operates the theater itself. It has hired a co-producer for its Theater series since it opened in 1977 – the first Herb Rogers Prods. and, later, McCoy Rigby Entertainment.

LA MIRADA THEATER FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS & McCOY RIGBY ENTERTAINMENT The 2022-23 show season promises to be another record high with the Southern California premiere of legendary actress Sally Struthers (“All In The Family,” “Gilmore Girls “) with the role of “Frau Blücher” in the newly revised London version of the monstrously hilarious musical hit, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN by Mel Brooks, which opens on Saturday, September 17, 2022. Follows Aaron Sorkin’s brilliant and gripping military drama, A FEW GOOD MEN. Audiences will then get their hands on the hit GREASE and “whistle a happy tune” to Rodgers and Hammerstein’s legendary THE KING AND I. The season will close with Andrew Lloyd Webber’s fan favorite JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAM COAT!
