Hollywood has given us dozens of fairytale movies. But now for the first time such a fantastic film is shot in the regional cinema with an actress playing the role of a mermaid. Actress Andrea Jeremiah, known for choosing challenging and varied scripts, will play this mythical aquatic creature in a new fantasy film starring director Dinesh Selvaraj. She will be joined by the star cast of Sunaina, Munishkanth, Indumathi and 50 child artists in an untitled project.
This untitled project is produced by Focus Films. The directors set up a huge set costing Rs 50 lakhs in Chennai for the shooting of this fantastic film. The team plans to finish shooting the film by February and hope to release it for the summer. The team is currently touring the T Nagar in Chennai.
According to media reports, the upcoming film will have animation and visual effects to give the audience a visual treat. The film is billed as the first mermaid-themed film ever to be made in India. The creators said they roped Andrea because she was a “perfect performer” and tall enough to suit him for her role as the majestic mermaid. Andrea, who plays the role of an angel in the upcoming film, played the role of a devil in Mishkin’s Devil 2.
Andrea was last seen in the horror film Aranmanai 3. The film directed by filmmaker Sundar C also starred Arya and Raashi Khanna in the lead roles. The film was released on October 14th.
Andrea had also appeared in a long appearance in the hit film Master de Vijay. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film was released on January 13th.
