‘Batgirl’ makers hope the movie will still be released

Warner Bros. will he ever #ReleaseTheBatgirlMovie?

The makers of the abandoned HBO Max project hope so. In an interview with YouTube channel Skript, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah said that despite WB shutting down the project indefinitely, they “just hope that one day the film will come out. We hope, Inshallah, that will happen.

They’re hopeful, but Adil & Bilall also noted that it’s not as simple as deciding to stream the movie one day. “If he ever came out, there would be a lot of work,” El Arbi said. “Like the Snyder Cut, it can’t be released in its current state. There’s no VFX, there’s nothing. We still had a few scenes to shoot. So if they ever want to we release the bat girl film, they would have to give us the means to do it, to finish it properly with our vision.

They also noted that they currently don’t have any of the scenes they filmed for. bat girl; Warner Bros. Discovery has already deleted the images from the servers they had access to.

As for why HBO Max decided to drop a movie it had already spent between $75 million and $90 million on, the explanation given by the filmmakers was the same one that was widely reported in the media. “The guys at Warner Bros. told us it wasn’t a talent issue on our part or the actress, or even the quality of the film,” noted El Arbi. “We were in the middle of editing. There was a lot of ‘It wasn’t like the movie was finished. They told us it was a strategic change. A change in leadership. They can save money.”

We live in a fascinating world, where flushing $75-90 million down the toilet is a way to “save money”. But maybe one day the direction and strategy of WBD will change again, and bat girl will see the light of day.
