IPSWICH – IHS Drama is back with its annual spring musical at the Dolan Performing Arts Center.

This year, the show has incorporated all the wings of the fine arts department and combined them with elaborate costumes and music to create an “enchanting” production, according to company production assistant Jack Parr, senior at IHS.

With a cast of dedicated seniors, like Parr, director Jill Hasselbacher set out to stage The beauty and the Beast. The performance will feature senior Jaedan Parker as Belle and junior Zeke Allman as the Beast.

Other supporting roles include seniors Seamus Gallagher as Gaston, Daniel Buletza as Lumiere, Parr as Cogsworth and Margeaux Appleton as Mrs. Potts.

“Like many things over the past few years, our show has had its ups and downs due to the pandemic,” Parr said.

“Our cast, crew and staff have put in a tremendous amount of work to make this show incredible and enchanting,” he added. “We’re excited to share it with the community.”

The show will run Friday, May 6 and Saturday, May 7 with performances at 7 p.m.

A final screening will take place on Sunday May 8 at 2 p.m.

The cost for students and seniors is $8, while the price of an adult ticket is $10. Children under five enter for free. Each IHS staff member receives two free tickets.
