The Garner Galleria Theater

Live from New York – the 5th longest-running musical in Off-Broadway history is coming to Denver. Winner of the Off-Broadway Alliance Award for Best Musical, NEWSical is the hilarious, ever-evolving, ever-changing, and up-to-date musical of all the news that can be faked. Through skits, parodies and original music, NEWSical tackles everything from the lowest depths of reality TV to the highest office in the land.

Two actors reimagine the story of how Elizabeth Windsor became Queen Elizabeth II (and recreate the resplendent Netflix show) in 80 minutes of frantic hat-passing, vintage accents and corgi impressions. A perfect treat for fans of the series eagerly awaiting the fifth season – and for those wondering what it’s all about. This new comedy comes from the pen of parody mastermind Daniel Clarkson, co-creator of Olivier Award-nominated Potted Potter. After being sorely overlooked for her dream role as Queen Elizabeth on hit series The Crown, budding starlet Beth brings her own take on the royal family’s epic history to the stage instead… with her agent Stanley compelled to play (almost) every other role – from Prince Philip to Princess Margaret, and every commoner in between.

Last Season’s Musical, All-Yiddish Fiddler on the Roof, Hadestown, Oklahoma! revival, featuring Dear Evan Hansen, Tootsie, Beetlejuice, Frozen and a whole new generation of Broadway stars, plus exciting twists from Bette Midler, Andre De Shields, Bernadette Peters, Lin-Manuel Miranda and some classic Lion King laughs, Wicked, Phantom, Les Miz and others.

STOMP is explosive, inventive, provocative, witty and utterly unique – an unforgettable experience for audiences of all ages. The international drumming sensation has won numerous awards and rave reviews and has appeared on numerous national television shows. The eight-member troupe uses everything but conventional percussion instruments – matchboxes, wooden poles, brooms, trash cans, Zippo lighters, hubcaps – to fill the stage with beautiful beats.

The performers “create a beat out of anything we can get our hands on that makes sound,” says co-founder/director Luke Cresswell. A unique combination of percussion, movement and visual comedy, STOMP has created its own form of inimitable, contemporary rhythmic expression: household and industrial objects find new life as musical instruments in the hands of an idiosyncratic band body percussionists. It’s a journey through sound, a celebration of the everyday and a comical interaction of characters communicating wordlessly through dance and drumming. STOMP, see what all the noise is about.
