Hatton School of Performing Arts stage their annual pantomime at the YMCA theater in Scarborough – this year it’s Aladdin

Aladdin is at the YMCA Theatre, Scarborough on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 January at 7.30pm and Sunday 30 January at 2pm

The Scarborough-based school is well known for its pantomimes which are packed with high-octane dance routines, comedy characters and the perfect blend of humor for audiences young and old.

This year, he presents his unique take on the popular Aladdin story. Based on the original story but introducing many colorful new characters and hilarious twists, Aladdin will take you on a magical ride of comedy, song and dance.

This year’s offering features a cast of old and new faces. Hattons welcomes Connor Canvess who will play the title role of Aladdin!

Those familiar with the performing arts scene in Scarborough may have seen Connor in musicals, including Oklahoma! and Mr. Cinders.

The role of the Genie will be played by Anais Smith, a sophomore at Hatton College and longtime student.

Anais has received rave reviews playing the title role in Rapunzel and most recently as the lead singer in A Christmas Carousel.

Ass queen and stunt double, one of Scarborough’s drag performers and diva extraordinaire, Krystal, will join the cast of this year’s Aladdin.

Krystal will play what she described as “the most important character on the show and the only one worth watching”… The Lamp!

Aladdin is at the YMCA Theater on Friday January 28 and Saturday January 29 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday January 30 at 2 p.m. Adults £11.00, reduced rate £10.00. Tickets are on sale now at the YMCA box office (01723 506750) and online (ymcatheatre.uk)
