‘JGM’: Filming of Vijay Deverakonda, Puri Jagannath’s next film begins

It’s no news that actor Vijay Deverakonda and filmmaker Puri Jagannadh are collaborating again for the upcoming film JGM a.k.a Jana Gana Mana.
Now co-producer Charmme Kaur has shared a photo revealing his production has kicked off with an official ceremony poo ceremony.
JGM was announced in March at a big event where Deverakonda landed from a helicopter wearing an army officer’s uniform.
Why is this story important?
- Deverakonda is known for his romantic films like Dear comrade, world famous loverand Pelli Choopulu to name a few.
- But now he seems to be signing action movies. It is well known that his next film liger is an actor.
- Since JGM is also billed as an action-packed entertainer, it looks like Deverakonda wants to shatter his “boy in love” image.
Does Pooja Hegde play the main role?
Pooja Hegde, last seen in the Tamil film The beastwill be the leading lady of JGM as confirmed by Kaur in the production announcement video on Saturday.
Previously, reports suggested that Janhvi Kapoor had been tapped to play the role.
It is also said that its filming schedule has started and the first stage of production will be shot entirely in Mumbai.
Vamshi Paidipally is on board the project as a producer
For the moment, JGM is set to hit theaters on August 3, 2023.
It will be published in multiple languages including Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
Apart from Kaur, Jagannadh and Vamshi Paidipally are also on board the project as producers under Puri Connects and Paidipally’s Srikara Studios.
The film is expected to be shot in several locations in India and overseas.
Deverakonda has ‘Liger’ awaiting release
Meanwhile, Deverakonda will next be seen in the pan-Indian film ligerscheduled for release on August 25, starring Ananya Panday.
The film marks Deverakonda’s Bollywood debut and Panday’s Tollywood debut.
Ramya Krishnan and boxing legend Mike Tyson also have pivotal roles in the film.
Directed by Jagannadh, liger is funded by Dharma Productions, owned by Karan Johar, and Puri Connects.
