Have you ever wondered what happens during the rehearsals before the concert? Here is a unique opportunity to hear the Philharmonie of the Institut National d’Orchestre in rehearsal. We’ve opened up our choir seats and stage dressing rooms so you can hear every note! Out of courtesy to the musicians, please arrive early and be seated before the rehearsal begins. Late seating in the Choir Stand and Stage Boxes will be during orchestra breaks and at the usher’s discretion. All open rehearsals are “working” rehearsals and therefore the program may not be played in its entirety.

This event is part of the National Orchestra Institute + Festival (NOI+F), a program of The Clarice at the University of Maryland. NOI+F trains aspiring orchestral musicians, composers, conductors, and arts administrators from across the country in one month of dynamic music creation and professional exploration. Pioneering conductor Marin Alsop has been named the National Orchestral Institute + Festival’s first-ever Music Director in 2020. In addition to leading innovative programs on stage at The Clarice and Wolf Trap, Maestra Alsop launched the NOI +F Conducting Academy for young conductors in 2021. In 2015, NOI+F began a partnership with Naxos to record an all-American music concert each year – Naxos’ first partnership with a summer festival this year. kind. The 2019 recording “Ruggles, Stucky, Harbison” received a Grammy nomination for “Best Orchestral Performance”.
