Omaha Performing Arts organizes masterclasses

On Tuesday morning, theater arts students at North Platte High School participated in a masterclass with dance and performing arts teacher Elizabeth Farley.

Farley travels the state with Omaha Performing Arts’ Nebraska High School Theater Academy, holding masterclasses and leading musical theater dance workshops along the way. This annual tour enables O-pa to make Broadway education accessible to students across the state and reinforces O-pa’s commitment to breaking down barriers on Broadway.

About 30 ENSP students learned the dance routine of the song “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” from the musical “Mary Poppins”.

Farley performed as Mary Poppins on the first and second national tours and served as the troupe’s dance captain.

The tour will travel over 1,000 miles this week and visit 12 schools from Scottsbluff to Elkhorn.

Farley teaches dance and performing arts in the New Jersey and New York area. In 2022, Elizabeth is also giving master classes in Nebraska, North Carolina and Pennsylvania.
