Ram Setu collection at the box office: Akshay KumarThe latest film is its fifth release this year. There were high hopes for Ram Setu and good box office returns were expected. However, the film failed to be a turnaround for the Bollywood star. Collections were muted and business dropped daily. The film enjoyed the early days due to the Diwali holiday, but since then the numbers have not increased. Going forward, it will be interesting to see how much loot this creates at the box office.
Ram Setu Day 5 Collections
Akshay Kumar’s Ram Setu was his biggest opener this year. Collecting Rs 15.25 crore on opening day, it went on to do a respectable business of over Rs 35 crore at the box office in the first three days of its release. However, the worrying factor here is that the business is declining every day. On Friday (day 4) it collected Rs 6.05 crore and on Saturday the collections saw a slight jump due to the weekend. Its five-day activity now sits closer to Rs 50 crore.
Ram Setu competes with Thank God
On Diwali, Ram Setu came out alongside Thank God, along with Ajay Devgn and Sidharth Malhotra. The latter had a comedy theme and was aimed at a family audience. However, Thank God didn’t turn out to be much competition for Ram Setu as he’s been following Akshay’s film since day one. The total of four days of thank goodness came to Rs 21.55 crore and there are not many expectations on that now.
Muted promotions for Ram Setu
Once its theatrical release is complete, ram Setu will be released on Amazon Prime Video. Prior to its release, promotions for the film were cut and the main stars were barely seen talking about the project in the media or the public. This Diwali was the worst in years for the Bollywood box office as thank God and Ram Setu put on a disappointing show.
