Reports suggest Jawan rights to upcoming SRK and At Lee movie being sold to Netflix for 120 Cr

When it comes to the film industry, there’s a big difference between being an actor and being a superstar.

While ‘actor’ is just a profession, ‘superstar’ is a status, one that has been maintained by Shah Rukh Khan for three long decades now.

Maybe that’s why, when the news of his next film jawan being sold to Netflix for a whopping Rs. 120 crore started floating around, we weren’t surprised.

After 4 years, SRK is set to create on-screen magic again with over 7 upcoming projects, one of the most sought after being ‘jawan‘ which will be SRK’s first-ever collaboration with director Atlee and Southern actress Nayanthara.

Reports speculate that the streaming rights for the film have been bought by Netflix at a record price of Rs. 120 crores.

Meanwhile, India today spoke to a trade analyst about the speculation who shared, “Honestly, it’s too early and hard to say what the price is for the broadcast rights to jawan been sold for. It is assumed that it would have gone to Netflix like all other Red Chillies Entertainment movies. They appear to have an ongoing partnership with Netflix. However, it’s too early to really say what price they went to. But yeah, a setup like that where Shah Rukh Khan and Atlee come together for an absolute artist’s turn, I wouldn’t be surprised if it fetched a phenomenal astronomical price.

Other upcoming projects from SRK include Yash Raj Films’ Pathan directed by Siddharth Anand and starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham and Rajkumar Hirani dunky alongside actress Taapsee Pannu.

As for jawanit is set to hit theaters next year on June 2, 2023.
