RRR Collection at Box Office Day 16: Jr NTR, Ram Charan Film Crosses Rs 1,000 Crore Worldwide

RRR has taken another step by breaking the Rs 1000 crore club worldwide! Ram Charan-Jr’s film NTR has become the third Indian film to hit Rs 1,000 crore.

The most talked about film, RRR, has taken another step forward now. Directed by SS Rajamouli and starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan in the lead roles, RRR tells the story of two Indian revolutionaries, Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitaram Raju respectively. On day 16, the film crossed the prestigious Rs 1000 crore club at the global box office. It became the third Indian film to do so after Rajamouli’s period epic Baahubali 2: The Conclusion and Aamir Khan’s sports drama Dangal.


RRR, which was made on a huge budget, hit theaters on March 25 in a record number of screens around the world. It is an epic war drama set in the pre-independence era. RRR has been breaking records since its release. Film trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan on his Twitter account on Saturday, April 9, wrote, “#RRRMovie enters PRESTIGIOUS1,000 cr club (sic).” In another tweet, he mentioned the club’s three Indian films Rs 1,000 crore as he tweeted, “Club Indian films 1000 cr+. #Dangal, #Baahubali2, #RRR (sic).”

Director SS Rajamouli’s RRR has a story written by his father, Vijayendra Prasad. Jr NTR and Ram Charan tried out for the roles of freedom fighters, Komaram Bheem and Alluri Seetharama Raju, respectively. The film is being made on a huge budget of Rs 450 crore by DVV Danayya. Within two weeks, the film entered the profit zone and brought the whole team a taste of success.
