SS Rajamouli Film Beats Saaho and Creates New Record

RRR Japan Box Office Collection 1st Weekend Report: After wreaking havoc at the global box office when it was released earlier this year, SS Rajamouliit is RRR hit the screens in Japan. The film, starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan in the lead roles, has already made Japanese box office history. It recorded the largest opening weekend collection for any Indian film in Japan. RRR BEATS SAAHO IN JAPAN

RRR released on October 21 in Japan and has been going pretty well at the box office ever since. The film broke the record for Saaho which had collected Rs 90 lakh on its first day of release in Japan. The period drama grossed 65 million yen (Rs 3.61 crore) in its opening weekend, reported sacnilk.com. It opened to 18 million yen (Rs 1.06 crore), which is the highest figure for any Indian film in Japan. RRR GETS BIGGEST RELEASE OF ANY INDIAN FILM IN JAPAN

RRR also witnessed the biggest release of any Indian film in Japan, as it opened in around 210 locations in the country. The film may well end its run as one of the top three Indian films at the Japanese box office. To be at the top seems unlikely at the moment! Meanwhile, the film is currently the fourth highest-grossing Indian film of all time at the global box office. It would be interesting to see if the filmmakers try to release it in other countries, especially China to add more moolah to the total number.
